How I’m going to change my life.

It’s true. I’m going to change my life.

This year (for the first time in so long), I made New Year’s Resolutions. They’re big, and they’re going to be tough to keep, but I’m always up for a good challenge.

This is what came to my mind when I decided to make my resolutions last Thursday:

1) To be a nicer person.
2) To calm down, and try to get over my anxiety at school.

Of course, being a nicer person seems easy. I try my best to be polite (i.e. holding doors open for people, saying “Thank you”, etc.), but what I’ve noticed is that I’m rude to the people I love. So, instead of just being a bummer, I’m making changes. Apparently, I’m doing well. Most of my peers said I’m getting better. Improvements shall ensue.

Calming down is more of the main issue. I freak out over everything. In other words, I’m crazy. I do well in school, yet I worry about the stupidest little things. I’m trying to change this, however; let’s just hope it’s not that constant worry that helps me keep my marks up. Chilling out might just improve my health, too.

I’m going to make the most of the remainder of the school year. No more sickness keeping me away from school. No more running away from my never-ending anxiety. Starting today (well, technically three days ago), I will be a different person.

New theme

Hey y’all.

I finally updated the layout of this site. Yeah, of course I loved my little birdie logo and my wood background, but I’m going from something a little more simple looking. This summer I’m going to be doing some freelance writing to get my work published (for my applications portfolio to Ryerson). I’m kind of enjoying the green right now, but it can always be changed just in case I decide I hate it.

Since school has started, I realized I made some mighty fine course selections. Although I thought I was going to regret taking American History, I’ve come to somewhat enjoy it. Mr.McKay gives a lot of assignments, which gives me the chance to work on my writing a lot more than I would have in any other class. I’m also taking Web Design this year, and I have to admit that I LOVE it. We’re going to completely revamp the school website. At the moment, we’re working on Wordpress themes; they give people a chance to become more comfortable with CSS, so it should be fun. The only class I’m dreading is Entrepreneurship. I hate that I got stuck in it. It’s one of those “joke” classes, and it’s really not my ~thing.

Once I get my Wordpress Theme done, I’ll start to update my portfolio more. I’m going to be joining the Newspaper club as well, so that’s when I’ll begin adding work to the “writing” section.
